You've got to fake it till you make it......

When telling a friend recently about my lack of motivation in going out for a run he said - 'you've got to fake it till you make it', i.e pretend your enjoying yourself until you actually start enjoying yourself....

So the last week i've gone out 4 times, Tuesday night 9:30p.m. for 5 miles, Wednesday night 9:30p.m. for 5km, Friday at 9p.m. for 5 miles and this morning at 9a.m. for 5 miles (yea, starting at the right end of the day for a change).

And while i am still at the faking it step i'm glad to be getting out a bit more regularly.

Kildare marathon was run today, 2 colleagues in work ran it and did pretty good (one aiming for 3:30 finished in 3:37, hope he's not too disappointed, another finished around 4:15, a time i can only dream about).   My bro-in-law did the half in 1:44, again, dream time for me....

I've dropped out of this race twice now through injury - but on my run this morning i was wondering if my heart just isnt into doing this race? I dont understand why this would be; its near, the course is nice, my sister leive close by.......

Anyway, start of another week, lets see if i can keep the miles (and the faking levels) up.....
